titleHigh speed railway at Roden, Spain
infoRunning at 310 km/h with more than one train every hour, Madrid, Zaragoza and Barcelona are linked by a high speed railway. It passes through mountains, rivers, valleys, and deserts. At the picture, a railway bridge passes beside the ruins of a destroyed village (Rodén, Aragón) at the Spanish Civil War, during the Battle of Belchite (1937). A hard contrast between past and future.

Paranormal phenomena Voted 5/5
Paranormal phenomena Interesting look. The fact you got a modern train running along a concrete viaduct structure through what looks rather otherwise untouched as you got that old medieval looking tower and a mostly barren dry land. 4.5/5
ArtZ Spain is PRC of Europe: horrible job market and high speed trains.
towerpower123 Not much better than High Speed Rail!
ArtZ Yes, Shinkansen. ;)
MassinissaMTL I thought it was in SAUDIA ARABIA  +1
437.001 Btw this is not a collage at all. You can see the village from the bridge, and the other way around.  +3
Paranormal phenomena Interesting point.
437.001 5 stars because Rodén is a sad place (as all former battlefields are sad) that deserves to be better known.  +1
Paranormal phenomena Ok I didn't read the comments and just now i had. 5 stars then.

Bikes Thanks, that one has a top speed of 350 (hence the name I guess), but it's limited to 330
Bikes Is this the Siemens Velaro E? If so, that can go over 400 km/h: [link]
alserrod There are Siemens trains over the line but not this one. Line has one train every hour (or less) from Madrid to Barcelona, some of them till French border and someone more from Barcelona to anywhere in north Spain. Line is ready to 350. Train runs up to 330 there. And there is a daily international train in that point: Madrid-Marseille!!! Roden was ridden in the Spanish war, nowadays it is a tiny village beside this castle and it is a nice comparation past and future. In addition, it is a desert despite Ebro river is just 10 km away or less  +2

FreeMyMind Didn't know this village but knew it was Spain because of the amazing viaduct and iconic AVE train. Truly one of the symbols of the great progress Spain has experience in the last decades. Amazing view, Aragón is definitely in my list of future trips.  +2
LFXDN Aragón is definitely worth the trip!  +1
alserrod It is an unknown village in Aragon indeed. It was ridden in the Spanish war and in the nearbies you have Belchite old town which offers all visits, history and heritage about that era. Roden was the same but far away tiny. Should you wanna visit Aragon do not hesitate to visit Aragonese regional forum and will find a bilingual thread to post any question to visit it!!!!!
rodineisilveira Roden (España), and with the AVE (Alta Velocidad Española) passing thru this city.
willman87 My country again? There are more cities have never been seen. Anyway, nice banner with a stunning landscape
